- Menorrhagia:
- 1000mg TDS during menses. Max: 5 days
- Epistaxis:
- 1000-1500mg BD/TDS * 7/7
- Dental extraction in haemophiliacs:
- 1000-1500mg TDS. Based on 25mg/kg
- Hereditary angioedema (Off-label):
- 500-3000mg/day BD/TDS. Max: 1 g/dose
- Postpartum hemorrhage (Off-label):
- 1000 mg IV STAT; to be started within 3 hours of delivery. May be repeated once more.
- Conisation of the cervix (Off-label):
- 1500mg TDS
- Traumatic hyphaema (Off-label):
- 1000-1500mg TDS

Antifibrinolytic.
It is a competitive inhibitor of the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, decreasing plasmin formation and fibrinolysis.
