- Acute uncomplicated UTI:
- PO 3g once
- Multi-drug resistant UTI:
- PO 3g OD for 2 alternate days
Capsule: 500mg
Sachet: 3g
Dissolve a sachet in half a glass of water.
Epoxide antibiotic.
Phosphoric acid derivative. It inactivates pyruvyl transferase enzyme which then inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. It also reduces adherence of bacteria to uroepithelial cells.
