- Acute pain or inflammation:
- PO 20mg OD
- Max 7-14 days
- Chronic conditions (e.g., osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis):
- PO 10-20mg OD
Tablet:
- 20mg
- Take with food or after meals to minimize GI irritation
NSAID.
It inhibits the enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, leading to a reduction in prostaglandin synthesis. This decreases pain, inflammation and fever.
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Diarrhea
- Indigestion
- History of GI bleeding or peptic ulcers
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs.
- History of cardiovascular disease or conditions that predispose to heart attack or stroke.
- Anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin)
- Antihypertensives (e.g. ACE inhibitors, diuretics)
- Other NSAIDs or corticosteroids
